Welcome to our website; you made a good choice, and we're glad you're here!
My first goal is your success. Regarding your smile, I do not feel that I have succeeded unless you do. This is the way service should be. After over 30 years in dentistry and orthodontics, I believe that almost anyone can have a better smile, or a better bite. The reason I come to work every day is to help create valuable results for each patient, and the most powerful smiles on the planet!
One of the things I enjoy most about Orthodontics is the personal relationships we have with our patients. We have a tremendous variety of patients ranging from adults in local businesses or military careers, to college, high school, and elementary students. Everyone is unique, they each have their own story, and while methods of treatment may seem similar, circumstances of, and cooperation with orthodontic treatment often vary. I consider it a privilege to be entrusted with your orthodontic care, it's a pleasure to get to know you better, and we work very hard to help you achieve your best results.
I'm blessed with a talented team. They demonstrate experience and dedication to our patients each and every day, and, we reach out to our surrounding community in many ways including Home Town Harvest, the Color Runs, community dental service events, Scouting, support for local schools, and Relay for Life which supports cancer research. Our team is well-trained, highly skilled, and committed to the relationships we form with you. To stay sharp, we attend various continuing education events together which brings in a flow of new ideas and refreshes our team. We also conduct periodic in-office training. Essentially, It's our job to ensure we stay engaged in what matters most to you. We call that "customer service"!
If I'm not in the office, you may find me enjoying the great outdoors here in the Pacific Northwest, where almost nothing beats a good campfire!
Thanks again for visiting. Our team looks forward to meeting you soon!
Education & Experience
I love Dentistry and Orthodontics. I'm dedicated to a lifetime of learning, constant improvement, and service. After graduating from the University of Iowa with a 4-year degree in Biological Sciences, I completed 4 additional years of dental school graduating from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1984. I completed a 2-year residency in Comprehensive Dentistry with dual board certifications with the Federal Services Board, the American Board of General Dentistry and Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry. After faculty appointments and serving as Director of a program in Advanced Dental Education, I was competitively selected to attend another 2-year specialty training program in Orthodontics. There are many fine dentists who do some orthodontics in their everyday practice. The additional training I completed is necessary for any dental professional to fully understand and actually specialize in Orthodontics/Braces. Gateway board certification by the American Board of Orthodontists followed, and I am both committed to, and preparing for re-certification. All together I have completed over 20 years of service to our country, 8 years of advanced training beyond college, sequential board certification processes, and still going!
