Appointment Types

Consultation
  • The Consultation appointment is complimentary and we do a diagnostic x-ray when the patient comes in. There is a small wait and when the doctor is available, he will call the patient and parents in for the diagnostic examination.
  • When the examination is complete, you will talk to the financial coordinator who will explain the fees and services
  • The appointment can take up to 1 ½ to 2 hours
  • If you choose to start treatment, you will given an opportunity to do Records for a reduced fee on the day of the consultation appointment
Records
  • The Records appointment is to take impressions of the teeth, photographs and another x-ray (Ceph) of the teeth. The doctor needs these Records to put together the formal treatment plan.
Initial Banding
  • The Initial Banding appointment is the day the braces are placed and the active treatment starts. If you have insurance, the initial claim is sent to your insurance provider on this day. These appointments are done in the mornings due to the length of the appointment time
Adjustments
  • These are periodic appointments to check the progress, make adjustments, change wires or change appliances during the course of treatment.
Emergency
  • These are unscheduled appointments.
  • Please call ahead to schedule a time to be seen.
  • We ask that you provide us with as much information as you can. We need to know the location of the problem; top, bottom, patient’s left or right, front, side or back and description of the problem. Please explain if there is discomfort.
  • After hours emergency appointments are limited to the procedure(s) that the on-call orthodontic assistant can perform without the doctor in the office.
Debond
  • The patients strive for this appointment. The teeth are straight, the smile is beautiful and the braces come off.
Retention
  • Once the braces are removed, retainers are utilized to hold the teeth in their new position until your bone, gums and muscles adapt to the new teeth positions
  • The patient will have periodic visits for a year or so, to check how the retainers are fitting and how the teeth are maintaining their position.
  • THE PATIENT NEEDS TO BRING THEIR RETAINERS TO THESE APPOINTMENTS
