About the Doctors

Brent Hassel, DDS, MS

Dr. Hassel was born in Medford, Oregon, the first of three children. He grew up primarily in Oregon, Arizona and California. He graduated from high school in Lodi, California in 1964 and earned his Associates Degree from San Joaquin Delta College at Stockton, California in 1966.

He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971. He returned to California and earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from California State University, Sacramento in 1974. Dr. Hassel entered UCLA School of Dentistry in 1975 and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1979.

Dr. Hassel served as a dental officer in the U.S. Army from 1980 to 1995, where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a General Dental Officer from 1980 to 1989 and did his two year specialty training in orthodontics from 1989 to 1991.

He received his certificate as a specialist in orthodontics from the Advanced Education Program in Orthodontics at Fort Knox and the University of Louisville, Kentucky in 1991. He also earned his Master of Science Degree in oral biology at that time.

Dr. Hassel practiced orthodontics at Fort Ord, California from 1991 to 1993 and Fort Lewis, Washington from 1993 to 1995 where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1995.

Dr. Hassel has been married to his wife, Vangelio, since 1969. They have two sons, Kenik and Evan. The Hassel family has lived in the Puget Sound area since 1993 and look forward to living here for many years to come.
